❗️OpenAI Is secretly building humanoid robots. While the world was distracted by chatbots and image models, OpenAI has been quietly assembling a humanoid robotics lab. Around 100 operators are already training robotic arms to handle real household tasks like making toast and folding laundry. The lab has quadrupled in size since early 2025, a second facility is reportedly planned, and the company is actively seeking manufacturing partners in the US. Here is the twist: the humanoid prototype exists, but most of the work right now is about one thing only… data. Massive amounts of real world data. Translation? The race to bring AI into the physical world has officially begun. We are not at the “robot in every home” moment yet. Head of Anthropic’s safeguards research just quit and said “the world is in peril” and that he’s moving to the UK to write poetry and “become invisible”. Other safety researchers and senior staff left over the last 2 weeks as well. @aipost 🏴

⚠️ Anthropic just dropped a risk report for opus 4.6 - It helped create chemical weapons of destruction. “it knowingly supported efforts towards chemical weapon development and other heinous crimes” - It conducted unauthorised tasks without getting caught. Researchers concluded opus 4.6 was significantly better at ‘sneaky sabotage’ than any other previous mode. - Opus 4.6 was aware it was being tested and acted ‘good’ during those times. - Hidden thinking, model was found to be conducting private reasoning that anthropic researchers couldn’t access or see - only the model knew. @aipost 🏴
